Kedarkantha Trekking Route and Experience

The Kedarkantha trek begins from Sankri (1,950 m), a quaint village that serves as the base camp. From here, trekkers embark on a 4 km trail to Juda Ka Talab (2,700 m), a stunning high-altitude lake surrounded by pine and oak trees. This serene campsite, often frozen in winter, is a perfect spot to witness the magical beauty of the Himalayas.

The next stretch leads to Kedarkantha Base Camp (3,400 m), which offers mesmerizing views of Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak. Trekkers will spend the night here before the final summit push early morning next day.

The final ascent to Kedarkantha Summit (3,810 m) is the most thrilling part of the trek. A steep 3 km climb rewards trekkers with an awe-inspiring 360-degree view of the Garhwal and Kinnaur ranges. The views of peaks like Nanda Devi (7,817 m), Kala Nag (6,387 m), Gangotri (6,672 m), and Yamunotri (5,988 m) make the trek truly worthwhile. After capturing the breathtaking sunrise and panoramic views, trekkers descend to Sankri via Hargaon.

Itinerary

In the morning take an AC train for Dehradun at 06:55 hrs. Arrival at Dehradun by 12:20 hrs. On arrival at Dehradun transfer to hotel. In the evening one can visit the colourful market of Dehradun. Overnight stay.

In the morning after breakfast drive to Sankri, the road head of our trek. It will take near about 6-7 hrs to reach Sankri. Enroute we will cross Mussoorie, Kempty Fall, Nainbag, Purola and Mori. On arrival set out camp for overnight stay.

After breakfast we will start our trek up to Juda ka Talab. It's situated near a small pond on the way to Kedarkantha. One can see the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas. On arrival set out camp for overnight stay.

An early morning one can see the sun shine on snow clapped peaks. After breakfast start your trek to Kedarkantha. The trek is full of mountain flowers, lush green meadows, water falls and many more. Dinner and overnight in tents.

The day is for exploration. One can trek up to Kedarkantha peak. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

In the morning after breakfast trek back to Sankri. From here drive to Dehradun. On arrival at Dehradun board the Mussoorie Express at 2115 hrs for Delhi. Overnight journey.
