Next, veer off the conventional path into the mystical Aryan Valley, where time stands still. Kickstart the 10-day enchanting Ladakh tour with a warm welcome at Leh Airport. Transfer to your hotel or guesthouse and spend the rest of the day resting and acclimatizing to the high-altitude environment of Leh. Overnight stay in the hotel.
Today, head out for the Ladakh monastery sightseeing tour with a visit to Shey Palace, followed by the majestic Thiksey Monastery and Hemis Monastery, which is Ladakh’s wealthiest Buddhist site. Stop by the 3 Idiots School, enjoy serene views at Sindhu Ghat, and wind down at Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. Return to your hotel in Leh for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, set out for the Ladakh Aryan Valley sightseeing experience. Drive through scenic Sham Valley to Beema Village, home to the Drokpa community, descendants of Indo-Aryans. After sightseeing, check into a deluxe camp for a night stay.
Post breakfast, visit the culturally rich villages of Dha, Hanu, and Beema. Witness their distinct Indo-Aryan heritage, traditional attire, and centuries-old customs. Return to the deluxe camp in Beema for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, begin the return journey to Leh. On the way, visit the ancient Lamayuru Monastery, set against moonlike terrain, and explore the 11th-century Alchi Monastery, famed for its intricate murals. En route, stop at Sangam, the meeting point of Indus and Zanskar River. You can choose to do river rafting here (at your own cost). Witness the optical illusion at Magnetic Hill, where vehicles appear to move up the road on their own. Pay respects at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, an important Sikh religious site, and explore the Hall of Fame Museum, commemorating the valor and sacrifice of Indian soldiers. Arrive in Leh by evening and check in for an overnight stay.
Embark on a thrilling drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass, one of the world’s highest motorable roads. Explore Diskit Monastery, known for its towering 33-m tall Maitreya Buddha, and enjoy a ride on the double-humped camels on Hunder’s sand dunes. After breakfast, drive to the remote Turtuk Village, opened to tourists only in 2010. Situated near the Indo-Pak LOC, this charming Balti village offers stunning valley views and glimpses of its interesting history. Visit Thang 0 Point, the last accessible spot on the Indian side of the border. Return to Hunder by evening for an overnight stay at your hotel or camp.
Today, check out of your hotel/camp and head to Pangong Lake, driving along the stunning Shyok River and passing through the quaint Tangtse village. Arrive at the breathtaking Pangong Lake, the world’s highest saltwater lake, stretching across India and China. Capture stunning photos by its shimmering blue waters before settling in for an overnight stay at the lakeside camp.
Post breakfast, depart from Pangong and drive back to Leh via the stunning Changla Pass (17,350 ft), one of the world's highest motorable roads. En route, visit Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace, the famous 3 Idiots School, and enjoy a serene moment at Sindhu Darshan Ghat. Arrive in Leh and check in to your hotel or explore the local market. Overnight stay in Leh.
