A fascinating trek across the Ruinsara Tal and Yamunotri Pass trails is all about bringing the open vistas of Har ki Dun valley along the Himalayan panorama. From the high Bali Pass, which is also being called as the Yamunotri Pass, the Ruinsara Tal-Ymunotri Pass Trek brings the camping bizarre by the side of the Ruinsara Tal (lake) for an outstanding experience. The unique encounter of the cultural practices and the village regions along with the meadows and shepherds of Thangi during the trekking makes the whole event a remembering experience. Besides, trekking along this region also bring a sacred chance to make a glorious visit to the holy shrine of Yamunotri which is yet another superfluous moment.

The region which is cloaked in mystery at an altitude of 3566 m brings a great challenge to the adventurers to the land of the Pandavas lying along the Fateh Parvat at the western part of Uttarkashi. The Har Ki Dun Mountain Trekking will take you to the source of the Karmanasha stream which meets the Obragaad stream below a village named Sankri or Saur, to form the supine river which unites with the Rupin River flowing from Himachal Pradesh, at Netwar, to become the Tons River - a major tributary of the Yamuna River.

Itinerary

In the morning catch AC Train for Dehradun at 06:50 hrs. Arrival at Dehradun by 12:30 hrs. Meet our guide here and transfer to Mussoorie by road. Upon arrival check in to hotel. Evening free to explore the Mall Road. Overnight stay at hotel.

After an early breakfast drive to Sankri and from here trek towards Taluka. The drive takes you through the picturesque Garhwal Mountains. This will take about 7-8 hrs. Approx 220kms through the Yamuna and Tons valleys across the Yamuna bridge, Nainbagh, Naugaon, Purola, Jarmola (Jarmola is one of the biggest and most beautiful pine forests in Asia), Mori, Netwar and Sankri, stopping for lunch en-route at Damta/Purola and continue till Taluka. Arrive Taluka by evening, followed by tea/snacks, Taluka is a small hamlet nestled in the laps of nature. Dinner and overnight stay at the Rest House or Camp at Taluka.

Taluka is the starting point of our trek. Start trekking with packed lunch to Seema (Osla 2260m) on an even surface through thick forests of chestnuts, walnuts, willows, chinars and a variety of conifer trees, with a few waterfalls on the way. You could either opt for the steep climb of Dhaatmeer village, which is a path with beautiful views, or just trek along the Karmanasha stream. Both the routes meet at Gangaar village. Bonfire, dinner Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Early breakfast in the morning, today we will trek 12 kms to Har-ki-dun with packed lunch on a gradual ascent that offers excellent views of the snow-covered mountains and vast valleys with huge waterfalls. The area is home to a number of rare species of Himalayan birds and flowers, and is full of birch and spruce. After the last steep climb of approximately 200mt, you have the grassy field of Har-ki-Dun divided by the clear and calm Karmanasha stream. The beautiful Swargarohini stands tall overlooking this Valley of God.

Today we will trek 14 kms to reach Debshu Bugyal. It will take 4-5 hrs at leisure pace as the trail is generally downhill. Overnight in tents

Today we start trekking early towards Ruinsara Tal. The Trek from Debshu Bugyal to Ruinsara Tal is through, terraced mountain fields, lush green grassy lands and conifer forests through extremely scenic landscape. The gradient of the trek is moderate and one will be able to complete the trek in 5 - 6 hrs On arrival at the lake set campsite. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

After early breakfast, we steadly climb 6 km to the foot or base of Bali Pass. A Majestic view of Kalanagh, Bandarpunch and Swargarohini peaks stands in front of base camp. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.

After breakfast, trek 14 kms with packed lunch along Yamuna river fairly downhill to Janakichatti (2575 mts) than further to Hanuman Chatti (2400 mts). Hanuman Chatti is the last motor point before heading to Uttarkashi. It is also a confluence of two holy rivers Yamuna and Hanuman Ganga. Dinner and overnight in camp/hotel.

Early breakfast drive to Dehradun. Stopping for lunch en-route and continue till Dehradun. Arrive Dehradun in the evening & from here catch AC Train for Delhi at 1700 hrs. Arrival at Delhi by 22:45 hrs.
